Albany Marina: Home of SANCTUARY and the CHARGING BULL

With Miraval releasing Studio by Miraval on March 5th, it would be reticent for us not to mention the new recording studio at Albany Bahamas. The Sanctuary over looks the marina to the south and has the Charging Bull to the west. Albany Bahamas is a part of the Tavistock Group and serves the Tavistock brand of wines at the Albany Bahamas restaurants and bars.

Tavistock Restaurant Collection offers guests an exclusive private wine label referred to as the Tavistock Reserve Collection. This proprietary series is a carefully curated selection of unique and exceptional blends created in direct partnership with respected vineyards and winemakers from around the world.

The next time you dine at any Tavistock Restaurant Collection location, be on the lookout for wine labels featuring Arturo di Modica’s Wall Street “Charging Bull” in honor of Tavistock founder, Joe Lewis, whose private art collection includes this iconic sculpture.

With the closings of both Chris Blackwell's Compass Point Studios in Nassau and AIR Studios in Montserrat (in 1989, due to devastation by a hurricane and, later, a volcano) The Sanctuary at Albany -- which officially opened for business in April 2018 is poised to become a destination for musicians seeking to record in an exotic locale.

“There are probably more talented musicians per capita in the Bahamas than anywhere else,” says Goldstuck. “This was an opportunity to build a world-class facility that can serve as a catalyst for local talent development."

Four years and dozens of investors, including Albany residents Justin Timberlake, Tiger Woods, Will Smith and corporate sponsor Monster Energy – Charles Goldstuck, founder and co-chairman of Hitco Entertainment, LLC, who says he also has “skin in the game,” stands inside the sunlit, white oak-paneled centerpiece of his labors, The Sanctuary at Albany. “This is the finest live room ever built,” he says, proudly noting the staggered array of floor-to-ceiling windows -- a rare sight in a recording facility -- that looks out onto Albany’s 71-slip mega-yacht marina.

The Grammy-award-winning engineer in charge, Ann Mincieli, also runs her Jungle City Studios in the same New York City complex as Alicia Keys’ studio. It’s no surprise, then, that Keys is one of the illustrious names that has already recorded in The Sanctuary. Others include Bahamian resident Shania Twain, Nipsey Hussle and Joe Don Rooney.

Albany Marina is accessible for your charter destination. The concierge team at Albany can also reserve your charter onboard Yacht Sweet Escape.
