Over the last few years BahamasPS has conceptualized and now brought through to completion the full infrastructure of a “green” lakefront, 20 home development in Cable Beach, The Bahamas named Oakridge Estates; Oakridge is completely “green”, with its own solar power, water maker, and environmentally friendly design mere steps from BahaMar.

There is nothing like it in the Bahamas, Oakridge Estates is for the most discerning of clientele, with its small size, unique location and forward thinking. Ghandi strives for a green approach to her projects, which is probably why her ethic translates so well to properties like yachts and mountains, where resources require utmost respect. From logistical nightmares, with shipping and delays, and knowing no mistake is “just” a little one, Ghandi is familiar with the practicality it takes to do business in the islands, out at sea, and of course up the mountains!

With Bahamian heritage and an avid traveller, she marries elements of bold color from her roots, always finds unique textile art, and makes a transitional aesthetic. “I cannot describe my style in a specific box like island classic, because that would put my creativity in a catalogue and that is just not what I do! I have decorated several town houses and estates in the United Kingdom, a Chalet in France, numerous yachts and private homes in The Bahamas. If my clients thought I was just one genre, I would be disappointed! I definitely have a particular style that is distinctly recognizable as Ghandi Knowles but it is far from limited to the traditional shells and bells of the old school Bahamas.”

As well as skills in interior design, Ghandi has a wealth of experience for the detailing and white goods for hospitality management and rentals. Her company, Bahamas Property Services, has been in the industry for years and work with LEED guidelines and MLS Real Estate and Yacht Brokers. Living between Nassau, Europe and Fort Lauderdale, Ghandi is also currently working on Lot 83, Albany, Bahamas. This is a 11,000+ square foot, sensational home with golf course views on the twelfth hole, in an exclusive members community; home of Tiger Wood’s Hero Challenge. The Marina at Albany is state of the art and worth a visit while on charter with Yacht Sweet Escape, Book for the 2019 event with your preferred broker!

Responsible for the refit and reboot of the Sweet Escape hospitality brand since 2017, the collaboration has inspired a luxury alpine chalet and most recently a pied-à-terre, Cottage Sweet Escape, on the infamous Paradise Island, steps away from the Atlantis Hotel and Cabbage Beach.

Being eighth generation Bahamian, has its many benefits, Ghandi worked for Yacht Sweet Escape on itineraries and in specializing the toy chest to take full advantage of what The Bahamas is best at. The movie library features almost all of the movies filmed in The Bahamas, after all 4 James Bond films were located in The Bahamas for a reason, not just Thunderball Grotto. Look closely at the library and you may see the theme of historical books such as Those Who Stayed and thrilling novels on such characters as Sir Harry Oakes or Joe Carstairs.

Snorkeling, fishing, conchin’, secret bays and secluded beaches…those little gems that Bahamian’s do not share with just anyone, all in Yacht Sweet Escape’s repertoire. The interior department has benefited from the array of table settings and themes having been revitalized, impressing and surprising even the most seasoned of charter guests. Have a look at the testimonials, don’t just take our word for it! It will be exciting to see what Ghandi Knowles and Sweet Escape’s next venture could bring.
